AGNI HOUSE- तमसो मा ज्योतिर् गमय

Dear Agnians,
Said by Francis of Assisi "Start by doing what’s necessary; then do what’s possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible".
“Mentoring is a brain to pick, an ear to listen and a push in the right direction”. One of the privileges of youth is the capacity for change and indeed rapid recovery when things go wrong. It’s so difficult, sometimes to tackle the highest priority and sometimes it’s difficult to even know your priorities; hence the phrase, “I can’t see the forest from the trees”. The reality is that even the bright students sometimes make bad choices, and part of our task as teachers is to help them to see the consequences of bad choices and help them get back on track.

A journey from darkness to truth, a journey from ignorance to bliss, a journey from self-pity to self-esteem - pride has been successfully undertaken. It was pleasure and honor to see them struggling, struggling for every point, struggling for every inch, struggling everywhere! Struggling to reach their destiny. The spirit of the Agnians drew praise from teachers and students alike. The motto " तमसो मा ज्योतिर् गमय " worked wonders as the house spun its web of strategies and action. Marut Nandan Tripathi as the Captain and Kundan Bora as Prefect took on mantle from where their senior left.

Another prominent feature of Agni's success has been the commendable contribution from the house associates (Mr. Satya Shrava Sharma, Mrs. Shilpi Agarwal, Mr. Satish Sah, Mr. Shiv Sahai, Mr. Rohit Bahuguna and Mr. Mohan Singh Rawat) and all the new students of Agni House.

Over the last 7 years of my journey in SelaQui International School as House Master, I have learned a big lesson of life which taught me “Don’t stop when you are tired. STOP when you are DONE!”.  As a silent observer, I can only hope, the legacy that Agnians have created and carried so proudly and which would live under Agnians for years under the able and guided leadership of Alamdeep Bhullar(House Captain), Nathaneil Buam (Hosue Prefect) and Kshitij Prasad(House Prefect) and many more to come.

At last I would only say “Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn”, both are necessary in life as one gives motivation and the other makes you strong.

Best Wishes,

Mr. Sharad Agarwal
